How we make money — affiliate disclosure

When you buy a VPN subscription through some links on this site, the provider pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way — sometimes less, when a link carries a discount.

What this does and doesn't affect

It funds the site. Reviews, comparisons, and guides are free to read because of it.
It never affects a rating or ranking. Scores come from a published rubric applied to verified data; some of our highest-rated picks pay us nothing.
Every affiliate link is marked for search engines with rel="sponsored", and money pages carry a disclosure at the top.

Which programs

We participate (or have applied to participate) in the affiliate programs of the providers we review, including NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, Proton VPN, CyberGhost, and Private Internet Access. Some providers we recommend pay us nothing — Mullvad runs no affiliate program, and Windscribe ended its program in 2021; both are listed because the data earns them the spot.
